Wedding Bells...

Went to a wedding shower for one of my cousins today. She is marrying a wonderful man, who is quite the romantic. It was so nice to get out of the house for a few hours and spend time with adults! But beyond that, it was nice to see young love and to see my cousin so happy and full of excitement!

I hope they are as happy and my husband and I are. We've been married for 13 years, together for 19 and loving every minute of it! It's amazing...we've been together for more than half our lives now...WOW. And I still love falling asleep and waking up next to him each and every beautiful day!

Has it really been over 3 months....

since I last posted? Wow. Where has the time gone? Busy with kids, life, holidays, family and work.

Work! Freelancing has been good! I continue to have several clients that I am doing work for and have been applying for new work and new clients. It's worked out so well. I hope over the years is just builds and builds...maybe someday it will be a full time job. Well, full-time, part time job. That's what I wish for! But I'm okay with the pace now. Especially with a four year old at home still. But he's at school for half the day and I'm able to accomplish a lot while he's gone, at night and even during the afternoon while he's home....he's only drawn on the walls a few times! Just kidding...

Who would have thought? Everything happens for a reason. If you don't believe that you should! It will help you realize why every day is a beautiful day!

The Season To Give

Today my son's preschool teacher (and someone I am honored to call a friend) started a daily "challenge" for the month of December. Now, she uses that word "challenge" lightly because she doesn't want it to be something people feel they HAVE to do. She wants it to be a positive choice for everyone each and every day. She wants everyone to remember why we really celebrate this season and to think of others more than ourselves. Today she's inviting her friends to donate a piece of outerwear to someone in need.

She talked to the kids today during preschool about the fact that it's more important to give than receive. She told them to look around their house for old coats, mittens and hats that they could give to someone who doesn't have one.

Before we left preschool, she mentioned this lesson to me in case my son said something about it. Well, we weren't more than 3 blocks from her house when he asked me if we had any old mittens, coats or hats that we don't use anymore. He wants to give them to someone who needs them! So we gathered a few things and we have a bag ready for him to bring to preschool in the morning to put in the donation pile.

I was SO tickled. Not only that his wonderful teacher was teaching her preschool kids the importance of giving - but the fact that my son was listening and caught on!
